Anushka Sharma's black, blood-filled, free-floating feminist fable "bubbul" for Netflix is set in the background of an overwhelming palace of a Bangladeshi nobleman at the end of the 19th century. This mansion is located on the edge of a haunted forest. In a series of murders of men in the village, people's fear of a demon woman (her feet have been wriggling) shrouded the sparsely populated area.
Despite the classic settings, this ghost story is not exactly based on the genre script. The fledgling screenwriter Anvita Dutt described this horror story as more of an ordinary supernatural vengeance thriller than a thrilling public obsession with mysteries and gender differences. At the lowest point, the story of women being wronged. Some people think that this is just a theme that made the setting of this period necessary, and the movie does not suggest that patriarchy is a thing of the past.
Bubbul uses expressionist painting tones, changing back and forth between soft blue tones and disturbing crimson (the moon will turn blood red when needed in critical plot points), and warm and sunny The uneasy goose bumps go back and forth and create a stylized canvas, the purpose of which is to prepare the audience for a story, which cannot be achieved without a voluntary, instantaneous pause of distrust.
The suspension of distrust may not be entirely voluntary, but because there are more ways than crazy in Fatty, this movie has a lot of meat to bite. Although the core of the fairy tale is painful, its soft tone, a lot of restrained performances and background sheet music (Amit Trividi) are obsessed with staying in the background, blending gently into the core of the film, rather than Try to overwhelm the original sound.
When the carriage goes through the forest or the hunting team ventures deep into the jungle to find prey, the horror atmosphere is sometimes full of fear and hunch. However, with the exception of a few thrilling, creepy screams and one or two banshees who insisted on their existence without revealing who they were, Bourble did not overly rely on the convention of supernatural fantasy until it reached its climax.
The first few episodes of the film revolved around a wedding in 1881. A child daughter-in-law, we saw her feet dangling on the tree in the first photo. Before she had time to know what was waiting for her, she left her parents’ safe house and ventured into the world.
On the way, the girl, bubbul (Ruchi Mahajan) woke up, looked lost, and shouted her aunt (pishima) loudly. Satya (Warren Parasbadev) sits in front of her and a boy of her age, in order to divert her attention, she told her about a "terrible" about a witch and a princess "story. The two immediately established contact.
The boring manor of Bourble's husband Indranier (Rahul Bos) is a gilded cage. The girl’s life became worse because the presence of Indraniel’s mentally unstable twin Rahul Bose and his noisy wife Binodini (Paoli Dam) made the girl Her life has become worse, she is much older than Bubbul, but she must now become a victim of patriarchy, like Badi Bahu.
After 20 years. An adult Avinash Tiwary, who has been away for five years, came home in a carriage. now it is night. The forest is shrouded in ominous red. The coachman (Vishwanath Chatterjee) warned young people of the danger lurking in the trees. But Satya, a suspicious person, has no patience with this vulgar superstition.
His meeting with the long-lost soul mate Tripti Dimri revealed a deep relationship between them. However, Satya is no longer the only source of happiness in Bubbul. Her personal doctor Sudip (Parambrata chattopadhayy) has been close to her for many years and has free access to her inner room, which annoys her childhood companions.
Although there are sporadic flashbacks, the two children play hide-and-seek or indulge in the company of others during their growing years, but the actions from this point on are carried out within a five-year framework and focus on increasing jealousy and appalling On the terrible consequences of cruelty and extreme masculinity.
In such movies, myth is inevitable. The goddess Cali appeared in large numbers in her most terrifying incarnation, and a key killing occurred on the day the god was fanatically worshipped. In the disgusting scene of domestic violence, a portrait of Ravana slashing Jatayu's wings during the kidnapping of Sita is looming. In a film, the symbolic meaning is unpredictable, otherwise it pays more attention to the use of film methods rather than cliché associations to convey emotion and meaning.
The cultural context created by Bubbul is generally credible. Bengali is spoken from the beginning of the wedding. Kashi flowers grow wildflowers on the ground of this mansion. There is mention of Kalipka and Hibiscus (Hibiscus) hair oil. Of course, in the soundtrack, Binodini hummed a low song (Mach Karankini Rada). Therefore, when Avinash Tiwary refers to Baul as bawl/ball, this is disturbing. Was staying in London for 5 years enough to make a person’s wording so bad?
In addition to these glitches, Bubbul has a large number of elaborate frames and exquisite and exciting camera movements. One of the best shots in the film is reminiscent of Satyajit Ray, specifically on one level, but only tangential on another level. Indra Neal, Satya and Binodini were resting under the tree while Bourble was swinging. Mahendra pulled her hair back when she got out of the car. The harasser was severely reprimanded. The atmosphere here is gloomy, and love has a persistent and depressing taste.
In this "Rajabari" (because it is a Hindi movie, it is called Haveli), it is impossible to appear like the four friends who were in Alaniye Din Ratri 50 years ago The kind of benign psychological game played in the Palamau forest. Binodini has reason to feel deceived by fate, she has her own plan. She suggested that it was time for the whole family to find a bride for Satya. She mischievously added that they must obtain Bourble’s consent because she has priority over Satya. The seeds of disharmony and suspicion sowed seeds in Indranier's already poisoned mind. A series of terrible events happened.
This visually rich film uses female feet, mysterious forests, trees and their changing colors as the narrative code, hiding secrets and truth that everyone can see if one is paying enough attention. Although the storyline is general, the director and technicians (the most famous film photographer Sidhas Divan) ensure that the audience stays engaged throughout the process.
In terms of performing arts, Tripti Dimri proves this with a performance that combines coquetry with mysterious perfection and mysterious harmony. Parambrata chattopadhayy sometimes makes Avinash a bit drunk and seizes the upper hand, but these two actors have played their role very effectively in the running-in of their characters.
Rahul Boss handles two distinct personality traits in a dual role, and Rahul Boss is very good against the type. Poly Dam, playing the role of multiple shadows, is very stable.
Bubbul is not that kind of creepy movie, it will scare you away, but it is attractive enough to never let you out of trouble.
